Winter Break
Today is the last day of our winter break (*shedding a tear*). It would have been nice to get out of town and go someplace warm, but just having a break from work for a week was great. Our friends T&C went to Key West with T's parents and siblings; I hear it was 80° the entire time. We would've loved to do something like that, but imagine the torture of coming back from 80° to Rottenchester's 30° snowy weather?
As a little get away this break, we stayed at White Springs Manor at Belhurst Castle for a night. Belhurst is on the north-west side of Seneca Lake with all those other wineries. They had a neat little "Chocolate and Wine" package that came with dinner, breakfast a wine tasting and other stuff. The dinner was awesome; I had wild game meatloaf with was made from boar, buffalo and deer. I have this habit of attracting annoying people, so I wasn't surprised when a huge group of loud obnoxious drunken losers shows up and sits down 5 feet from our table. It was still good though.

We decided to be (somewhat) productive this break and get some of the housework we've been planning done. We painted the living room a teal color called "Harbor". I hung a big mirror we got last summer which was a total pain in the ass. It had two hanging points which have to be the right distance apart and level (which I can NEVER seem to get right no matter how many times I measure) and of course one of them hit a stud but the other didn't. We also bought a rug from overstock.com on uber-sale which only cost like $2 to ship, it was awesome.

We hung out with Rachelle's mom and brother yesterday because her brother had some archery competition in the city. We went out to dinner at P.F. Chang's at Eastview and it was a good thing we made reservations the day before, there was an insane amount of people there waiting for tables. We got there at 5:30 and heard people saying the wait for a 2 person table was going on 2 hours! After dinner we played Mario Party 8 and her mom won! She could barely use the wiimote and she killed us. On his last turn her brother came up 1 spot short of getting another star; we all laughed at him, it was awesome.
The other home improvement project I wanted to get done this break was installing a cable tv jack in our bedroom. There was a coax cable already run up the air duct to the room, but I really hate that. Sure it's easy but I think it's kind of ghetto to have a wire coming out of a vent. I ended up using the old furnace flue pipe that isn't in use anymore to get the wire from the basement to the attic and then from there I ran it down into the bedroom wall right where we needed it. It was a work of art!
