First Mow
I couldn't last any longer, I had to mow the lawn this weekend. Most of the time that is a dreadful thought, but at the start of the mowing season I actually enjoy it. It's time to get out in the sun and make your lawn look better than the neighbor's.
A few years ago during the first spring we were in this house, one of the neighbors actually had the gumption to call the school and complain that the lawn wasn't mowed! The funny thing was, the school was supposed to be responsible for mowing the lawn. Because of that, at the time I didn't even own a lawn mower. I ended up hot-wiring the school's mower (yes, the monster they mow all the fields with) and did the front and side lawns in about 10 seconds (4 passes at about 25mph). I did that for about a year, but the school's mower ended up not being very reliable, so I borrowed a push mower from my dad. Then last fall, the very same neighbor cleaned out his garage and threw out a decent looking mower. The mower he bought to replace this one is set way too low, so he keeps butchering the lawn every time he uses it; I don't think he knows you can adjust the cut height. Meanwhile I'm mowing with his my perfectly good thrown-away mower while he's killing his lawn. I love it!
